How To: Mimecast
With the Mimecast portal, employees can access email, review held messages (spam, phishing or contain an attachment), or access Delegated Mailboxes. Using the Mimecast Personal Portal you can review these held messages safely to determine if you want to release or reject the messages. Messages in the held queue will automatically be removed after 7 days.
How To Access Your Mimecast Personal Portal
- In your web browser of choice navigate to https://myapplications.microsoft.com/ and login using your 5.11 domain credentials.

In the available applications, locate the Mimecast Personal Portal. You can also use the search feature as shown in the example below.
- Login once more with your 5.11 domain credentials
How To Review Your Held Messages
- Click on the Advanced Icon represented by three dots.
- Select Personal On Hold from the menu.
- Select an e-mail for review and select the appropriate action.
- Report email - Report as Spam or Phishing and remove the message from your queue.
- Release email
- Release Message - The email is delivered to your inbox. Future emails from the sender may be held.
- Release Message & Permit Sender - The email is delivered to your inbox and future emails from this unique sender will be delivered to your inbox.
- Release Message & Permit Domain - The email is delivered to your inbox and all future emails from the senders domain will be delivered to your inbox.
- Note: Permitting all senders from a domain will deliver mail directly to your inbox everyone from IE) @AOL.com.
- Reject email
- Reject Message - The email is deleted.
- Reject Message and Block Sender - The email is deleted and the sender is blocked.
- Reject Message and Block Domain - The email is deleted and all emails from the senders domain are blocked.
- Note: Blocking all senders from a domain will reject all messages from IE) @AOL.com.
How To Review Permitted And Blocked Senders
- Select the category you want to view, Blocked or Permitted.
- You can review your permitted or blocked senders and adjust them as necessary.
- Example - If you have accidently blocked all senders from @AOL.com, locate the entry and select remove.
- To add a sender manually to your permitted or blocked sender list click Add Permitted/Blocked
- Enter the sender or domain address and click Add and then Permit/Block.
How To Access Delegate Mailboxes
- After logging in, select the Profile Picture in the Top-Right of the page
- Under your account information, Select 'Open' for the desired Delegate account that you have access to.
- A new Tab will open in your Browser for the selected Account
- To search for mail, you can use the Advanced Filters by selecting the 'Settings' button and changing the parameters.
