MFA - Registration (BYOD)
These are the steps to complete when your 5.11 account has been added to the Multi-Factor Authentication Policy.
I. After being added to the MFA Policy, the next time you log into an Office 365 service you will be prompted to Register for MFA.
You will have a 14 day grace period to register for MFA before Registration is Enforced.
II. After you select Next from the prompt, a "Keep your account secure wizard" appears.
Start by Downloading the "Microsoft Authenticator" app from your Mobile Device's App Store.
Then select "Next" on your computer.
III. Remain on the "Set up your account" page while you set up the Microsoft Authenticator app on your mobile device
IV. On your Mobile Device: Open the Microsoft Authenticator app, select to allow notifications (if prompted), select the "+" icon on the upper-right corner, and then select Work or school account.
V. Select "Next" on the "Set up your account" page
VI. Using your Mobile Device, Scan the provided code with the Microsoft Authenticator app QR code reader, which appeared on your mobile device after you created your work or school account in the Previous step. The authenticator app should successfully add your work or school account without requiring any additional information from you.
VII. Select Next on the Scan the QR code page on your computer. A notification is sent to the Microsoft Authenticator app on your mobile device, to test your account.
Approve the notification in the Microsoft Authenticator app, and then select Next
Your security info is now updated to use the Microsoft Authenticator app by default to verify your identity when using two-step verification or password reset. Select Done to finish.
Optional: Enable Phone Sign-in for Password less logins
I. With the Microsoft Authenticator app, select your Account, then select "Enable phone sign-in"
II. If not already, Setup a Passcode and Register your Device to Continue...
III. Enter your Password and select "Sign In"
IV. Approve the sign in request
Phone Sign-in will now be configured.
The next time you log into an Office 365 service, you will be prompted to select a number from your mobile device
